How are Files Organized on VAweb?
 Understand how IS set up VAweb department directories and files.

If a URL ends with a directory, then your browser displays

  • index.html or index.shtml
  • A list of the files in the directory, following by the contents of a README file, if it exists.

When IS created directories for each department in ~vaweb, they also created the files

  • index.shtml
  • main.html
The browser displays the contents of
~vaweb/aDepartment/index.html
when a user browses the URL
http://vaweb.valinux.com/aDepartment
