Save Images that are on Web Pages

How to save an image on a Web page.
  1. From a terminal window, create a directory for images in your html directory
    mkdir ~/public_html/images
  2. From your browser, position your mouse on top of the image you and then click your right mouse button and select Save Image As... from the menu and then specify
    ~/public_html/images/imageName
    as our Selection in the Save As dialog box (see screen shot below).

  1. You can view the images you save using gimp. From a terminal window, change to the directory containing your graphics
    cd ~/public_html/images
    Then from your terminal window invoke gimp by typing
    gimp graphicsFile
    where graphicsFile is the name of the graphics file you wish to view.
